Your Student’s Path to Community and Success Begins Here

Week of Welcome is more than just a series of events. It marks the start of a journey designed to help new Yellow Jackets build on the connections made during FASET, expand their network, discover campus resources, and feel supported as they begin life at Georgia Tech. From engaging workshops to fun social activities, every experience is crafted to foster holistic success and a sense of belonging.

Supporting Your Student

Although Week of Welcome events are for students only, families play an important role in helping their student make the most of this experience. Here are a few ways you can support them:

  • Encourage Preparation: Remind your student to log into Engage, review the event schedule, and RSVP for sessions that interest them.
  • Promote Balance: Suggest they attend a mix of academic and social events to maximize their experience and connect with a variety of people and resources.
  • Offer Guidance: Talk with your student about their goals for the week—whether it’s meeting new friends, learning about campus resources, or exploring involvement opportunities.

Waivers for Week of Welcome

To ensure all students can participate in Week of Welcome activities, a completed waiver is required. Waivers will be completed during the roommate selection process for all new students who will be living on campus. Students living off campus will receive a direct email with information about the waiver signing process.

If your student is under 18, you will need to complete the waiver on their behalf. Rather than completing the waiver independently, underage students will provide parent/guardian contact information. An automatic waiver will then be sent to the provided contact via Docusign.
